Kijang Economics Competition (Kijang) is a national economics competition for secondary schools and pre-university students that aims to challenge students’ economics knowledge in economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and business. This competition is a platform for students to be selected into the national team and participate in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO).
The competition was open to all secondary school and pre-university students within the age group of 13 to 18 years old. Participants were classified by age groups, namely lower secondary (Form 1, 2 and 3) and upper secondary (Form 4, 5 and Pre-university). This year, the competition was conducted online. UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus conducted the competition on 26 June 2024 at the computer laboratory.
A total of 14 students from CFS Kampar Campus participated in the competition. They were coached by CFS Kampar Campus academics Ms Haw Ai Peng and Mr Nawanithan a/l Thanimalay. The results were as follows:

Overall, the students described the competition as both enriching and challenging, igniting their passion for economics and their commitment for continuous learning. They also conveyed gratitude to their coaches and lecturers for the unwavering support and guidance provided throughout the competition.
